Anat Shtark

Founder & CEO

Our founder, the mind and soul behind Theana. Anat was born in Israel, in a family who fully participated in the creation of this new State, and its new multicultural society. Her childhood was nurtured by stories of strong people, women and men, driven by the desire, to fulfil  the dream inherited, cherished and longed for by the Jewish people for centuries. To be reunited with their roots.

After her military service in the Israeli Navy, she did postgraduate studies in the Social Sciences and Psychology. She soon left home to further her Studies in Paris, where she began  what was meant to become a long and successful career in the field of Psychosocial Science. During her career she has developed and was in charge of many innovative , social and sustainable projects, in France and abroad.

Aiming always, to integrate the values of Social justice with women’s and men’s  empowerment in her projects, she soon realised that women, in times of crisis are affected the most. Thus, she began focusing on projects which would  practically support young women who were helplessly seeking employment, mothers who needed a job to contribute to the family income, women who needed to actively contribute to the socio-economic development of their society and at the same time to become financially autonomous.

Anat created THEANA in honour of strong women and men in her family.

Maria Olga was born in Athens, Greece. Her studies focused in Graphic Design and Interior decoration. As a multidisciplinary designer – artist, she is constantly inspired by digital art, music, people, culture, architecture and heritage.

She has worked in the advertising industry as a Senior Art Director, in major multinational companies, for fifteen years. When the economic crisis hit Greece in recent years, she decided to take a risk and go in uncharted territory, creating her own fashion enterprise Postfolk as owner and designer, and at the same time,  offer consulting services to businesses,  based on her experience as luxury branding expert.

The idea behind her own brand was inspired by the Greek folk, traditional embroidery which Maria Olga began turning it dot by dot, into unique design creations. Her purpose was to salvage the duying art of embroidery, full of masterpieces of   Greek folk heritage and preserve them for the future.

Her work has received international recognition and in 2017, she was honored to be chosen, as one of the few Greek, contemporary, creative entrepreneurs to participate with  POSTFOLK, in the exhibition “Beware of the Greeks”, at the European Parliament, in Brussels.

Her motto is “Unhappy is immoral”.
