OINOUSSES – KIMONO

A TALE

Seagulls in art, may be hinting at the love story of Alkyone and Ceyx who angered the gods of Olympus, that turned into a Halcyon and a Seagull. But art rarely is thrift in meaning. Seagulls are also symbols of travel, freedom, discovery, nautical adventure. In Papakonstantinou’s work they also represent Greek Islands. White birds floating, flying against the eternal Aegean blue.

AN INSPIRATION

Seagulls, a recurring theme in the artist’s work, are re – interpreted in colour, in this instance, paying homage to the Oinousses islands close to Chios, birthplace of Mary Papaconstantinou.

A TOUCH OF LUXURY

A luscious silk kimono, or a stylish dress to buy and keep in your wardrobe, forever. A sexy garment, versatile enough, for staying in, or going out, a piece which can add colour, even to the greyest of days.
